Since 2013, “Shedia” has a very important and interesting work to display. It is the only Greek street magazine and member of the International Network of Street Papers, which counts more than 122 street magazines, 41 countries, 14.000 homeless & unemployed people, as well as 6.000.000 international readers.
“Shedia” cannot be purchased at the usual Press kiosks, but only at the city’s streets, from certified vendors. The vendors are actually people who belong in vulnerable social groups, such as homeless, unemployed and people who live in poverty.
Selling the magazine is their opportunity to secure a small, but decent, income, as well as a means to cut loose from the loop of social isolation and exclusion. It is, also, an extra motive to rebuild their lives.
